With the most recent release of InfraLink (v3.5.36), we are happy to offer the following new features and functionality.
System Construction and Commissioning
The release of InfraLink v3.5.36 expands Production module capabilities, including the widely used task-based workflows and milestone reporting tools. We are improving the user experience, from project configuration to project reporting. Learn more below.
Expanded Cloning Capabilities for Advanced Workflow Configurations
Production and installation procedures are often similar across projects, and Work Packages are the InfraLink Cases that track this type of work. Because Work Packages rely on numerous configurations, the ability to clone elements from one project (i.e., Contract) to another offers project teams considerable time savings. Cloning configurations also helps ensure the consistent execution of Projects.
While the ability to clone a Work Package Template is not new, the process has not carried over all configuration attributes. With improvements in this new release, a cloned Work Package Template now retains the System Element Type(s) criteria from the original Work Package Template.
Also with this release, cloned Sequence Templates maintain a link to their source template. Now, when cloning a Work Package Template from one Contract to another, InfraLink will recognize if the associated Sequence Template(s) was also cloned to the target Contract from the same source Contract. When this occurs, InfraLink will automatically populate the Sequence Template for each System Element Type within the Work Package configuration.
Cloning Order for Production Configurations
When cloning Work Package configurations, actions must be completed in the necessary order:
- Applicable Custom Fields and Forms are associated with the target Contract.
- Task Template(s) is cloned to the target Contract.
- Sequence Template(s) is cloned to the target Contract.
- The Work Package Template is cloned to the Target Contract.
What You Will See in the User Interface
- A Sequence Template that is cloned from an existing Sequence Template on a different Contract will specify the "Cloned From" source within its details.
- When cloning a Work Package Template, the System Element Type configurations within the Criteria tab of the Clone Work Package Template form will no longer be dumped when the Contract field (General tab) is populated with the target Contract.
- If the Sequence Template(s) was also cloned to the target Contract from the same source Contract, the Sequence Template configuration for each System Element Type will also be retained within the Clone Work Package Template form.
New User Controls with the Milestone Report Summary
Introduced in v3.5.35 of Infralink, the Milestone Report Summary continues to summarize and display milestone progress for System Elements according to their Location. Previously, selecting a Location under the Location column would open the relevant Milestone Report grid view displaying all of the devices at that Location alongside their and their components' relevant milestone progress. Now, the Milestone Report Summary allows Users to further refine the items displayed in the pop-up Milestone Report grid view. Clicking on a cell in the Milestone Report Summary will display drill-down options for viewing the devices and associated components' milestone progress according to their status or schedule compliance.
What You Will See in the User Interface:
- The Milestone Report Summary is accessible from the Main Menu, under the Production stack.
- Note: The grid view will be empty until the User: i) applies at least one System Element Type filter; ii) applies a Location filter; and iii) adds the desired status columns via the View → Columns widget.
- Clicking on any cell within the Milestone Report Summary will present a menu with three options:
- View All... - Opens the relevant Milestone Report grid view displaying all of the devices at that Location and any relevant milestone progress for the System Element and associated components (e.g., links, connections, terminations).
- Status - Allows you to view the devices at that location that have either achieved that cell-specific status or those for which that status is still pending
- Schedule - Allows you to see the devices at that location that have reached the cell-specific status according to schedule compliance (i.e., Not Planned, Late, On Time, On Time Pending, and On Time At Risk).
System O&M
The release of InfraLink v3.5.36 expands the already robust set of operations and maintenance capabilities, including SLA advancements and Job Number availability refinement. Learn more about these features, which focus on contract compliance.
Improved Presentation of Handling Metrics and SLA Compliance
With the release of web application v3.5.36 and expansion of our new user interface, InfraLink now offers a more intuitive and graphical Handling Metrics summary within the Case Details panel. Clear communications improve awareness, which improves contract compliance!
Many contracts include service level agreements (SLA) that define certain contractor performance criteria. Common SLA requirements include Response Time and Resolution Time, and typically, performance requirements will vary based on the issue priority. For example, a contractor may have 72 hours to resolve a routine issue but only 24 hours to resolve an emergency issue. InfraLink has long supported project SLA via configurable Handling Metrics, which measure the duration of work performance against the target performance thresholds. Typical Handling Metrics, like the two mentioned above, or custom Handling Metrics (e.g., Service Order Submission Time) are defined globally, while the Priority-specific performance targets are defined per Contract.
When teams use InfraLink Handling Metrics to track performance against SLA, Case Details panels display near-real-time SLA compliance details.
What You Will See in the User Interface:
- A color-coded time bar clearly illustrates the performance time lapsed in relation to the time allowed for each Handling Metric.
- Green - On Time
- Yellow - At Risk
- Red - Past Due
- Gray - Paused
- Metric status icons visually communicate the metric status and SLA compliance.
- Milestone met on time
- Milestone met late
- Milestone not yet met and past due
- Metric counter paused
- The absence of an icon indicates the milestone has not been met and is not past due.
- The time consumed is displayed to the far right of each Handling Metric.
- Hovering your mouse over this time consumed value will display a pop-up summary for that metric.
- Only applicable Handling Metrics are displayed, by default.
- The option to Show All Metrics is available via the section menu (vertical ellipsis)
- The Recalculate tools is available via the section menu (vertical ellipsis).
- A suspension summary, if applicable, is also displayed within the Handling Metric section. The suspension summary displays total suspension time, as well as individual suspension events.
Planned O&M Functionality
Coming Soon: Previous PM Task Display on InfraLink Mobile
The Infralink release establishes the groundwork for future enhanced Task visibility via the mobile client. For every Preventative Maintenance (PM) Task, a mobile User will be able to see the details relevant to the last completed PM Task of that same form and same System Element including Work Form results, completion dates, etc.
When launched, PM Task results will display if at least one of the following parameters are met:
- Same System Element, completed Task, same PM Group, same Work Form, same Work Form revision (picks most recently completed Task)
- Same System Element, completed Task, same PM Group, same Work Form (picks most recently completed Task)
- Same System Element, completed Task, different PM Group, same Work Form, same Work Form revision (picks most recently completed Task)
- Same System Element, completed Task, different PM Group, same Work Form (picks most recently completed Task)
This release introduces system settings necessary for this planned Task feature. Subsequent InfraLink releases will offer the extended functionality. Stay tuned!
General Scalability and Usability
The release of InfraLink v3.5.36 expands on the New User Experience released to Users in v3.5.34 while introducing the My Work view. Learn more about these enhancements below.
New My Work Dashboard View (Beta Stage)
The introduction of the My Work dashboard is designed with our daily Users in mind. Formatted to be a convenient pre-filtered and pre-sorted view, My Work displays just that - my work. A User's open cases and associated entities (i.e., Work Tickets and Tasks) are displayed in three tabs
- Assigned to me - Displays all Cases where a User is assigned to that Case
- Initiated by me - Displays the Cases a User manually created
- Note, this does not include work automatically generated by InfraLink, such as Preventative Maintenance and Advanced Workflow/Work Package Cases.
- Watching - Displays the Cases where a User is included in the Notify by Email list
Although the view is designed to be pre-filtered, it does come equipped with additional filters to allow further refinement of the records displayed. Similar to other InfraLink views, selecting a record will open the associated Details panel along the right side of the window.
Future Development
With an upcoming InfraLink release, the Assigned to me tab will be expanded to include any Cases for which the User is assigned to an associated Work Ticket or Task.
What You Will See in the User Interface:
- The My Work view is available from the Main Menu, under the Overview stack on the left-hand side.
- The My Work view has three tabs, all pre-sorted in ascending Due Date order and pre-filtered to include only Open work. See Tab Details below for additional information as to what each Tab displays.
- Each Case record will consistently display the Case Category, Priority, Status, Case Number, Due Date, and Contract. Dependent on configuration, the Case record may also display the Location, Work Tickets, and User.
- Some items within the My Work view are represented by an icon, as detailed below:
Case Contract Case Due Date Case Location Associated Work Ticket Count Case Assignee
New Look and Feel
This InfraLink release continues our transition to the new user experience, introduced in v3.5.34. This phase focuses on the consistent display of all record (e.g., Location, Case, Device, etc.) details panels, transition of all User Accounts to the New UI, and enhancement of banners and icons. The new user experience is designed to be more intuitive and less cluttered, while offering significant performance improvements.
