Job Connect Construction Mode is one of the two User Interface (UI) modes offered with the InfraLink mobile client. The system provides near real-time Project tracking for activities at the level of individual devices, circuits and subsystems, while containing the information in simple, actionable visual reports. The basis for recording progress and issues is the virtual design model, including drawings, specifications, quantity takeoffs, schematic diagrams and more. Construction Mode improves the planning and coordination of critical system elements, increases transparency and accountability at the individual installer level, and improves the quality and accuracy of records.
This article discusses the following aspects of the Construction Mode UI.
UI General Layout
Prior to providing guidance on the specific records and tools supported by Construction Mode, it is helpful to provide a high-level introduction to the User Interface general layout.
Upon initial login, Construction Mode will present two active widgets within the UI, the Settings icon and the Project Selector.
Settings
The gear icon, located to the right of the UI, provides Users with quick access to Settings options, including: Sync Data, Timeline, Last Sync Summary (if there is one), Add Activity, Create Case, What's New, Technical Support, Log Out, as well as details pertaining to User, mobile version, and server version. See Settings for more information regarding the capabilities mentioned above.
Project Selector
The Project Selector is the means by which the User determines which Project data is downloaded to the mobile device.
- Tap Select Project. This will open the All Projects window, which displays a complete list of Projects the User has permission to access.
- Tap to select one or more of the listed Projects based on present needs.
- Tap Save.
After making the initial Project selections, the Select Project link in the top left corner of the UI will be replaced with the name of the active/selected Project. Tapping that Project Name at any time will reopen the Project Selector and allow the User to navigate between the loaded Project Systems.
Tapping the <Projects link, in the top left corner of the Project Selector, will return the User to the list of previously loaded Projects.
Tapping View All link, located in the top right corner of the Project Selector, will return the User to the All Projects list. From the All Projects list, the User can: i) select additional Projects to load data; and ii) deselect Projects to remove data.
Preloading Data
After selecting the desired Projects, Users will then want to preload Project data, including work forms and drawings, for the necessary systems and subsystems. Preloading data helps ensure that Project records can be accessed while working offline. The selections made when preloading data will also determine the record (e.g., drawing and device) updates during subsequent data synchronizations.
As mentioned above, one of two windows may appear after a User selects the desired Project.
- Project Window: Once a Project is selected, a window, titled with the Project Name, will display a summary of the drawings associated with the Project.
- Tap Preload option in the top right corner that will
- From the Select Preloaded Data window, choose the systems and/or subsystems to preload.
- Tap Done.
- Preloading Window: The preloading window with three choices regarding data preload:
- Turn on preload - This option allows the User to specify which Project data to preload.
- Tap the Turn on preload button.
- From the Select Preloaded Data window, choose the systems and/or subsystems to preload.
- Tap Done.
- Browse without preloading - This option allows the User to continue browsing the selected Project without preloading any Drawings or Work Forms.
- Do not show on this project - This option disables the preloading notice for the selected Project.
- Turn on preload - This option allows the User to specify which Project data to preload.
When preloading Project data, a User may load all systems associated with a drawing or only the systems and/or subsystems that are currently being worked on. A more targeted selection allows for faster preload times as well as easier work navigation.
Once Project data is preloaded, selecting a Project from the Project Selector will take the user to the associated Drawing Selector. See Drawing Selector for information and guidance.
