This article provides guidance on the following topics related to the Asset Models dictionary:
Creating Asset Models
- Access the Main Menu from the top-level navigation toolbar.
- Select Manage Models from the Materials Management stack.
- This opens the Manage Models view (i.e., Asset Models dictionary).
- Select the New button in the grid commands at the top of the viewing pane.
- This opens the New Model form.
- Populate form fields with all information you have in hand for the Asset Model.
- Note: required fields are marked with an asterisk ( * ) and include:
- Manufacturer - See Manufacturers and Vendors for information and guidance.
- Type - Select the appropriate type from the Asset/Material Types dictionary. See Asset/Material Types for additional information/guidance.
- Model Name
- Optional fields should be completed if the information is available
- UPC/SKU#
- Lifetime (hrs) - See the About Model Lifetime section below for additional information and guidance.
- Sales details
- End of support - Date when the Manufacturer stops supporting the Model, typically a few years after the Model is discontinued.
- Warranty (months) - See the About Model Warranty section below for additional information guidance.
- Average price
- Weight
- Dimensions
- Stock Keeping Details
- Description
- Note: required fields are marked with an asterisk ( * ) and include:
- Select the OK button once known details are populated.
- The newly created Model will now appear within the instance's Asset Models dictionary.
Editing Asset Models
- Access the Main Menu from the top-level navigation toolbar.
- Select Manage Models from the Materials Management stack.
- This opens the Manage Models view (i.e., Asset Models dictionary).
- From the Manage Models grid view, select the desired Asset Model.
- Select the Edit button in the grid commands at the top of the viewing pane.
- This opens the Edit Model form.
- Modify form fields based on your needs.
- Select OK in the bottom right corner of the form.
