InfraLink v3.5.46 expands administrative controls related to System Element data capture via Custom Fields.

System Element Custom Field Conditionality

InfraLink v3.5.46 introduces Custom Field conditionality for System Elements. With this feature, which must be enabled at the instance level, Administrators can define a System Element Custom Field as dependent on one or more prior choice field selections. Conditional Custom Fields are displayed only when the specified criteria are met, allowing for choice trees that collect meaningful details based on each possible scenario. This approach streamlines data collection, minimizing redundancy and improving data integrity.

For System Element Custom Field conditionality to work as expected, a few requirements must be met:

  1. At least one choice-type Custom Field must be assigned to the applicable System Element Type.
  2. The conditional Custom Field must follow, per the assigned Order number, the choice-type field(s) upon which it is conditioned.
    1. For example, Custom Field C is conditional on the choice selection from Custom Field B. If Custom Field B is assigned Order number 2, then Custom Field C but be assigned an Order number of 3 or greater.
    2. In short, the Choice Custom Field must always precede any Custom Field that is conditional on it.

This feature will be enabled on your InfraLink instance upon request. To request, please email the InfraLink HelpDesk (helpdesk@infralink.com) with your Instance URL and intended use case(s).
