Managing and effectively resolving Issues is an important part of project management, and the ability to bulk update is meant to ease the process of managing a large amount of data captured throughout the production process. Update Issues allows a User to update multiple Issues at once whether that be status transitions or information (such as Custom Fields) pertinent to Issues. Bulk Updating Issues/Cases can happen from three locations within Job Connect Construction Mode: the Item List View, the All Cases View, and from the System Element Details panel of the System Element associated with that Issue/Case. 

When bulk updating Issues/Cases, all available case transitions, for the selected Issues/Cases, will be shown.  Once a User selects a transition, only Issues/Cases that can be transitioned to that status will be updated.  Issues/Cases that do not have an available transition to the target status will be excluded from the bulk update.

Bulk Update Restrictions

Bulk Updating Cases is restricted to Construction Mode and can only be performed on OPEN issues for a single Issue Type OR for a single System Element

Item List View


Cases/Issues can be bulk updated from the Item List view. 

Updating in bulk will update the field(s) for ALL Cases that are selected.

  1. Navigate to the Item List View (JCC).
  2. Select the Issues Panel. This will show all open Issues.
  3. Select one or more Issues/Cases from the panel. In order to bulk update, the Issues must have either the same Issue Type or the same associated System Element. 
  4. Tap Update Issues at the bottom of the Issues panel to open the Select Issues to Bulk Update window, which provides a breakdown of the selected Cases according to Issue Type and the number of Issues/Cases per Issue Type, as well as the associated System Elements and number of Cases per System Element. 
  5. Tap to select either the Category - Issue Type method or the System Element method for the bulk update. This will open the Status Update window. 
  6. The Status Update window includes three sections: Items, Status,and Update.
    1. Items - This section will show the number of Issues/Cases selected for the bulk update. 
    2. Status - This section will show the available status transitions for the selected Issues/Cases.
      1. If updating status, tap the desired target status.
    3. Update - This section allows the User to update Case information without changing the Case Status. 
      1. Updating without changing the Case Status allows a User to edit the Cases' Custom and Native Field information. When bulk updating Cases without changing the status, the Select for Update form will only show fields common to all selected records. 
      2. Note: Bulk updated information will be the same for ALL selected items. Any discrepancies will be overridden with this update.
  7. Upon making the above selections, the Update Information window will be presented.
  8. Populate fields as necessary for the bulk update and tap Done.

Bulk Update - Item List View

System Element Details Panel


Cases/Issues can be bulk updated from the System Element Details panel.

Updating in bulk will update the field(s) for ALL Cases that are selected.

  1. Navigate to the necessary System Element Details Panel.
  2. Scroll down to the bottom of the details panel to find the Issues field. This will show all open and closed Issues associated with that System Element.  
  3. Select the Bulk Update widget () to the right of the Issues field. 
  4. Use the radio  buttons to the left of the Issues/Cases to make selections for bulk update. 
  5. Tap Update Issues at the bottom of the System Element Details panel to open the Select Issues to Bulk Update window, which provides a breakdown of the selected Cases according to Issue Type and the number of Issues/Cases per Issue Type, as well as the associated System Elements and number of Cases per System Element. 
  6. Tap to select either the Category - Issue Type method or the System Element method for the bulk update. This will open the Status Update window. 
  7. The Status Update window includes three sections: Items, Status,and Update.

    2. Status - This section will show the available status transitions for the selected Issues/Cases.

Bulk Update - System Element Details Panel

All Cases View


Cases/Issues can be bulk updated from the All Cases view.

Updating in bulk will update the field(s) for ALL Cases that are selected.

  1. Navigate to the All Cases View (JCC)
  2. Select the Bulk Update widget () from the top of the window. 
  3. Use the radio buttons to the left of the Issues/Cases to make selections for bulk update. 
  4. Tap Update Issues located below the Filter panel to open the Select Issues to Bulk Update window, which provides a breakdown of the selected Cases according to Issue Type and the number of Issues/Cases per Issue Type, as well as the associated System Elements and number of Cases per System Element. 
  5. Tap to select either the Category - Issue Type method or the System Element method for the bulk update. This will open the Status Update window.
