Bulk Data Import Feature Overview

IMMS data records, such as Asset Models, System Elements, Locations, and Assets can be created or updated by way of individual manual entries. Sometimes, however, it is necessary to enter a large quantity of information into IMMS at once.

For example, if an Instance of IMMS is being configured for a new project, it may be necessary to import all known System information (e.g., design drawings, System Elements, Assets, etc.) at the onset. With an existing IMMS Instance, a materials manager may routinely create numerous new Assets at once upon receiving a large material shipment.

A large data entry can be easily accomplished in bulk using a properly formatted CSV file and the IMMS Import feature. The IMMS Import feature is a useful and time-saving tool for both creating new records and updating existing records in IMMS.
